Carotid Artery Intervention Preceptorship

Prerequisites

Physicians who apply to the course must meet the following criteria:

  • High level of proficiency in catheter-based intervention
  • Board certified in IR, VS or IC
  • Fully credentialed to perform peripheral interventions at his/her local institution
  • Access to at least 25 high-risk carotid patients annually
  • Local institution has established credentialing standards for Carotid Interventions
  • Adequate malpractice insurance

Participants must also obtain hospital privileges at the course site, as well as a state medical license and malpractice insurance that comply with the training facility standards. Ciné-Med will assist in this process, which may take as long as 2 months to complete.

The course director will review materials for consideration of acceptance into the course.
